I’m almost there.
I know my potential, maturity, and intelligence; the only thing holding me back is my age. As soon as I get my ticket, I’m out. I want to make my own mistakes and listen to my own conscience instead of someone else’s advice from the mistakes they’ve made. I don’t intend on telling people every five minutes that I am an adult when I turn 18; it’s meaningless and makes you look childish. I am slowly obtaining the identity of a young woman who is trying to make her mark on this world, and I want to do it without being treated like a child in the process. Let me act as the grown up you expect me to be, and treat me as such, and I promise I won’t disappoint you. There has been a grown woman in this seventeen year old body for seven years, and she is knocking on the door to her acceptance.
